Caryn’s Bio

Wednesday, April 8th, 2009

Violet LaCello was born in the sleepy little village of Hollis, Queens, and made paper dolls and her own personal versions of Seventeen magazines before she grew up to be the famous cartoonist that changed the world with her bodice-ripping stories of passion and vice in Wimmins’ Comix, Twisted Sisters and her cartoon advice column, Ask Aunt Violet. Around 1996 she was plucked from the mass of talented West Coast cartoonists to write scripts and copy for the Web and she has never looked back. Well, no…actually, she has looked back a lot. Well, in any case, these days Violet spends a lot of her time being a copywriter and graphic artist. She would love to do more work traveling to fabulous resorts for offsite meeetings with organizations that want to expand their creativity. She is also working on fundraising for her graphic novel project, tentatively called Mandelbread. She has two other graphic novels in the works, Ev’ry Month Like a Period and 1,000 Apartments. You can learn more about Aunt Violet by visiting her website.

IT Without the Hype
The term “Managed Services” is often thrown about to assist in providing credibility to a service provider’s methodology. The services they offer may or may not be truly “managed”.

Tierra Technology believes in IT without the hype. If you take the hype out of this term it really means your computer consultant, or consulting firm, is providing their service or the core of their services at a fixed cost. How do they (we) do it?

New Leadership and Leadership Meeting

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009

Tim Johnson, Web Design

This coming Wednesday April 08 we will be having our Leadership Meeting at the Orchard Hotel where  the Leaders talk about Leadership stuff. I for one will be there. But before I do I would like attempt an experiment.

I want to see if a discussion over  a valid issue can get properly vetted and that everyone can commented on, and can be collected and recorded in an efficient manner, while avoiding spamming everyone and not having an efficient way of collecting that data.

Some immediate goals I hope to achieve are: 1. avoid endless spam email, 2. create capureable data, 3. everyone gets heard, 4. streamline communication and 5. manage the ever growing membership.

Last Call for 2008

Wednesday, January 7th, 2009

One last opportunity to look back at 2008 before the parties get under way, and we wake up just 3 years from the Mayan Calendar’s Armageddon.

The Fearmeisters of the Media have traded terrorism for economic meltdown, as it’s so much closer to home, and keeps people in their tenderized state; ready for control and plunder.  Remember, as long as you are scared and thinking about survival, you’re not thinking about issues requiring higher consciousness.

This means that they can keep you focused on yourself, and not run the danger of community-minded thinking, banding together to help one another, or other non-consumer–oriented activities.  What’s more, if you become somehow content with yourself, they can’t sell you the clothes, perfumes, cars, hair colors, or pharmaceuticals that promise to give your worthless self value.
